Georgia Tech People and Technology Forum Returns November 11th-12th, 2014
Georgia Tech’s Institute for People and Technology hosts its annual People & Technology Forum on November 11-12, 2014 at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center.
This 2014 Forum will focus on “Connected Life” with keynotes and panel discussions providing thought-provoking discussions with insightful business leaders, brilliant researchers, and entrepreneurs examining how emerging technologies will shape the future of our society. Panel discussions will focus on the future of smart cities and live, work, play communities; predictive and personalized healthcare; and connected cars and the future of driving.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with over 100 startup, faculty, and student demos including a showcase of student innovations from the Convergence Innovation Competition’s (CIC) GT Journey competition, a highly successful Georgia Tech student competition designed to tap into the innovative thinking and technical expertise of GT students. The GT Journey initiative supports students who want to innovate new applications and services for the campus by providing: access to campus data; application development platforms, devices, and support; as well as a competition each fall.
Past companies in attendance include: AT&T, Qualcomm, Panasonic, Steelcase, GM, Nielsen, Cisco, Coca-Cola, Cox Communications, Moxie, ESPN, Equifax, Hitachi, Humana, IBM, Invesco, Motorola Mobility, NCR, SunTrust, Turner, and UPS. Non-profit partners who attended the Forum included the City of Atlanta, Midtown Alliance, Emory University, Georgia State University, High Museum of Art, and The Ron Clark Academy.
Previous speakers include: Babak Parviz (Creator, Google Glass), Ralph de la Vega (CEO of AT&T Mobility), Glenn Lurie (President, Emerging Devices, National Resale and Partnerships, AT&T), Michael Kelly (CEO and President, The Weather Channel Companies), Clyde Tuggle (Senior Vice President, Global Public Affairs & Communications, The Coca-Cola Company), and many more.
Since 2009, over 2,000 people have participated in this fusion of ideas and imagination.
