Dr. Darria Long Gillespie
Darria Long Gillespie, MD, MBA, FACEP, is a board certified emergency physician at Emory University Hospital, Executive Vice President of Clinical Strategy at Sharecare, national spokesperson for the American College of Emergency Physicians, and Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. At Sharecare, she answers users’ health and wellness questions on her blog “Ask Dr. Darria”, and brings her expertise as a physician to the development of Sharecare’s products and program offerings.
Dr. Long Gillespie earned her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, her residency in emergency medicine from Yale University School of Medicine, and her MBA from Harvard Business School. After residency she joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School, where she worked in the ER at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.
Dr. Long Gillespie regularly appears on both TV and radio and in print media, and has been an expert guest nationally on CNBC, FoxNews, and the Dr. Oz show. She is also host of “Sharecare Radio” on iHeart radio. She appears regularly on NBC 11 Alive Atlanta and Fox WAGA Atlanta.
Dr. Long Gillespie has authored a chapter in the preeminent text of Emergency Medicine, and both published and presented research in disciplines including plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, and hospital strategic/financial business development.
